Tyrese’s brand-new single has finally arrived, and it’s iHeartRadio’s latest World Premiere.
The revered R&B singer delivered his latest song “Wildflower” on Friday, August 16. The track is dedicated to his late mother Priscilla Murray, who’s also featured on the official cover of his upcoming album Beautiful Pain. Tyrese worked with producers Brandon “BAM” Hodge and David Foster to reimagine New Birth’s 1973 hit into the incredible version he’s released today. Before he dropped the song, Tyrese shared a preview of his upcoming music video for “Wildflower.” The vintage flick is set in the 1970’s and shows the singer-actor performing the song on “Soul Train.”
The song is expected to appear on his seventh studio album Beautiful Pain. Tyrese has been promoting the album since last year. He previously released his single “Don’t Think You Ever Loved Me.” The song was also produced by Brandon “BAM” Hodge and features guitar riffs by Lenny Kravitz and vocals from Le’Andria Johnson.
Tyrese’s upcoming album will serve as the follow-up to his 2015 LP Black Rose. It lets the singer-actor explore personal themes like love, divorce, and personal growth. The album will blend sorrow with beauty as he embraces the journey he’s been on over the past two years. Fans will get to see how he managed to find solace in the darkest moments of his life.
